IMO it's pretty easy to not get caught, especially in the first sector. But yeah, if they catch you at the exit then there is a good chance that they will simply try to execute you. And it might be impossible to avoid the PDS damage with three bars, depending on the strike configuration you get

Bottom line: Don't mess with the Rebel fleet. ;)

Well after now of course i will not risk getting the fleet catch me in first sector with less then 4-5 engine bars.

Bottom line of the fleet stuff (IMO): In later sectors the fleet is no real threat anymore, because you automatically have enough engine bars and are able to jump away long before the artillery hits. I often do this. When engaging fleet on the exit beacon allows me to visit 1-2 more regular beacons before, it is worth it. More then maybe one enemy missile hit won't happen 90% of the time.

...Unless you meet Elite Battleship or some Elite Cruiser on steroids, instead of auto-spotter ;) Or auto-spotter decide to bang your engines/cockpit with every rocket/bomb/focus beam he got.

Well that's the rest 10%
I find cruisers much easier to deal with then Autoscouts for some reason.

I'm not seeing that text anywhere. Was it one of the starting tips?
The Captain wrote: "Your Zoltan crew member seems a little sad .... It misses ... the space station it has lived* in** a few years ago." - 1) "lived" (remove has), or "was living"; 2) I would use "on", but this is a minor quibble.
How about, "...it had lived on..."?
The Captain wrote: Next: "I know* you would understand.... Your crewmen** is happy to not have to hide it's*** offspring anymore and promises the newborn will be no burden and fight**** for you just as loyal***** as it's****** parent." - 1) knew; 2) crewman (do we think this term applies to females as well? Should it be "Your crewwoman" Or maybe just use "She" instead?); 3) its; 4) will fight; 5) loyally; 6) its. [And holy shit, I just got a new Mantis! :o ]

"Your Mantis is busy sharpening it's* claw**." - 1) its; 2) claws (I think it should be plural, unless you think Mantises have just one claw?)
They have multiple claws, but how many can be sharpened at once? ;)
As to gender and "crewmen" or "crewman", this has been a bone of contention with modern navies ever since women started serving. Most have decided to keep the masculine terminology when talking about enlisted ranks or crew. In any case though, we still don't know for certain the gender of this particular Mantis. Maybe, like seahorses, the males hatch the young? Maybe Mantis don't have sexes at all and can act as either, as required? And the text never actually says the Mantis laid the egg, just that the newborn has already hatched. How about just changing "crewmen" up there (which should have been the singular anyway) to "Mantis"? "Your Mantis is happy..."
Due to the rising cost of ammunition, warning shots will no longer be given.

I know it only allows you to clone "carbon based" species, but would it be possible to make an augment that allows you to "clone" your crew members whenever they die in an event? Basically my thought was maybe if you have the Clone Lab and a giant-alien spider kills one of your crew and you have the augment could you choose a blue option and "clone" your dead crew mate (maybe just using stored DNA samples)? Technically they just won't die at all, but it would seem like an exact clone with all their skills, name, etc... was created. (Though I guess you won't actually get to see who died hmm...) I think this would make the clone lab even more useful and distinguish it from the AI Avatar Generator a lot more. It would certainly be useful just for those events where you're afraid to risk your crew or even for a sole survivor challenge run. Also good for people who get really attached to their crew, like me. :D

On the other hand, I was also thinking maybe there should be some more events where your crew can die randomly, but they should die trying to save the rest of your crew and/or doing something heroic... Not becoming breakfast for an alien spider.
Hmmm... I like this concept but I think I'd tweak it a little and have the clone lose some or all skills. That can be explained as an "older sample" or that the skills were "muscle memory" based, which the clone will have to relearn.

Also, how about the chance of a human crew becoming a ghost if killed on board? Change the type from human to ghost and say it's a stored avatar of the crewmember which had been used for training.
Due to the rising cost of ammunition, warning shots will no longer be given.

Hmmm, I didn't make note of that. Possibly it was just the augment description (Slug A has it now).

Since it was the recent past, I think "lived on" or "was living on" fits better.

Well, then it should have said "sharpening a claw." ;)

I am wondering why "your" is used with Mantis - I don't recall seeing it with other species chats.

The worst (as in, best) thing about late-game destroyers, battleships and supraelite cruisers are the encased systems. While defeating them will delay the rebel fleet, unless you can destroy them really quickly, you'll be in for a world of hurt if they have encased weapons.
