I just recently knew and bought the game, and have a love/hate relation =D
Hate because once I pumped 20 hours in one go into it while should be doing something else o.o
Uninstalled 2 times, and exactly now, itching to play a bit more, re-downloading from GOG :~

Sugestion:

Survival / Infinite Mode =D So that eventually, we could find/buy/build our dream ship =D

There is currently an infinite mod in the mods section of the forum if you want to try that. You'll also need the mod manager which is also there.

Building your own ship sounds great, but you could also just create one through modding.
