So, the Steam for Linux beta just started, and I'm one of the lucky few to get in.
I was a tad disappointed to see the Linux version of FTL isn't available via Steam yet (many other cross platform titles already are). Any idea when that might happen?
I was travelling when the Steam beta started for developers so I was unable to try it out myself yet. It's on the list of things to do but I don't have an ETA currently, sorry about that. Hopefully within a couple weeks.

But I have trouble to launch it. I get a message saying the executable is missing.
I have deleted local content, 3 times. I have verified game cache integrity too.
I'm wondering if it's a general problem or if it's only for me.
If you bought it from the Indie Humble Bundle you can literally just dump the contents of the FTL/data/ folder in the Linux archive you can download into:
~/Steam/SteamApps/common/FTL\ Faster\ Than\ Light/
edit ~/Steam/SteamApps/common/FTL\ Faster\ Than\ Light/FTL and make the second line:
cd ~/Steam/SteamApps/common/FTL\ Faster\ Than\ Light/
