New Game Mode Idea?

I don't own FTL, but after watching people play it, I see that they have pimped out ships; after they beat the flagship though they have to ditch their ship. I thought it would be cool to have a survival mode to the game where their are infinite sectors to see how long you can survive. Every other sector goes up in difficulty. Again though, this is just an idea.
