I found a bug where I was on one HP in a battle trying to get the achievement and I died. When I clicked restart to try and get it again, I was given the achievement and the type B ship.This kind of makes it very easy and annoying since I have been trying to get the achievement for a while and I got it so easily.

I got that achievement by waiting around in a solar flare that was right next to a shop until the flares damaged me to 1 hp. It wasn't hard but took quite a while.

Sorry about that. It was introduced by the "fix" in the last patch. I'll make sure it's remedied in a future patch.
