I'm a returning player from a few years ago. I recently completed all achievements from Into the Breach, and I've gotten to long for the FTL experience yet again.
Unfortunately this has also reminded me why I stopped playing to begin with. I'm horrible at this game. I can't remember ever having defeated the flagship even on easy mode.
So I've been trying to track down a couple mods to make the game a bit more manageable.
Tried to find a mod that makes the flagship boss a bit easier, but so far I haven't found any such thing.
Heard runors about the existence of a mod that gives you some scrap at the end of each sector, but found no confirmation on wether or not this has even existed at some point.
I did find a mod that adds some scrap to your inventory at the beginning of the run. I found two versions actually, but one is so outdated that the download link has been taken offline, and the other came with Slipstream's mod manager, but it only gives me around 28 scrap, which I don't think is going to make much of a difference when I die on sector 2 on easy mode.
I asked on the Steam forums for help, but people there were pretty reluctant to help. I don't want to turn the game into a cakewalk. I'm horrible at multitasking and micromanagement, and I just want to have a good time with this game.
Anyone knows of any mods that will give me some or any kind of advantage, that are still possible to download?

Do you have the ability to record your play and post it on YouTube? Several of us are happy to note places you've made mistakes, and offer advice.
As to the scrap mod, try unzipping the file (it's named something.ftl, but it's just a zip file) and looking through the file within. You should easiliy locate where it adds the scrap, and change the number to whatever you want. Then just rename it back and modmanager it in.

You said that multi tasking and micromanagement aren’t your strong suits. However, while this is an aspect in FTL that is what pausing is for. Don’t feel like you have to rush, if you’re overwhelmed just pause, see what’s happening and plan what you’re going to doing.

Thanks for replying!
I should probably update and mention I figured out my main problem, which was I had (for some odd reason) forgotten how to upgrade the ship. I thought it all had to be done at shops, so I just kept playing with the system power I was handed at the beginning or from events.
Flagship is still hard as balls though. I could use a save editor give myself enough scrap to buy anything I could fit in and on my ship (which I did once as a test) and still lose to that damned thing.
The gameplay in the first 7 sectors is perfectly enjoyable and balanced, but by god I loathe that final boss.

Honestly, the last boss is (objectively) the EASIEST part.
Why?
Because you already know what is coming.
Take that missile down, cloak the power surges.
And that's about it.
[SPOILER]And repeat three times, of course.[SPOILER]

Yeah, agree on that last part. The final boss is pretty much the only enemy you can actually plan for; apart from where it hits and the random effects of fire and hull breaches. But the weapons and crew and layout are all the same.
