Mouse Cursor Lagging

Post by Dr.Available »

Good evening.

Bought FTL some days ago, and tried starting to play it today,
and it seems like my Mouse Cursor is "lagging" while everything else
is running smoothly. Tried using fullscreen mode and turn on and off
all the other settings.

I'm running Windows 8.

Can you tell us where you bought the game (the website, Steam, or GOG?). If you have bought from the website or GOG, are you aware that a new version of the game has been released? In the last two cases, you can try to download the new version and reinstall the game, the new version is supposed to fix a few compatibility issues. If you have bought from Steam, then your game should have automatically upgraded to the latest version (1.02.5, as seen at the bottom right of the start screen).

Note that Windows 8 is not officially supported, though I have no idea if this is related to your problem or not.

Hi,

I would like to add that I also have this problem.

I got FTL on Steam.
I am running Windows 8.

My specs are:

Intel i7-2600k
8GB RAM
64-Bit
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti

All drivers are updated, including Mouse.

Hopefully we find a fix!

We don't list Windows 8 as officially supported because of the current less than stellar driver support ATI/NVIDIA are providing for it. There was a new driver for NVIDIA released just under two weeks ago, you might want to double check that you've got the latest version ( their search tool for your convenience: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us ).

Dr. Available, what are you system specs?

For most people experiencing this issue with Windows 8 it's just been a process of finding the right drivers.

For those wondering, I manually searched nVidia and there were updates. Updated and it works perfectly :D

Good to hear. Now, all we need is hear back from Dr.Available. Did upgrading his or her driver solve the issue too? :)

What screen mode are you running in Hurik? Fullscreen Stretched/Windowed/Fullscreen Black Borders/etc.?
