[SOLVED] FTL was working fine,but now loading up a white scr

Hi, I've played the game before and have many hours clocked in on it already. It was working fine just last night. Now when I load up the game, I'm getting the pure white screen problem. I managed to access other content of the game but the white screen error is causing the graphics to be incomplete. I already looked at the FTL Version 1.02 update post, and followed the instructions to try and fix the problem, but it didn't resolve the issue. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the game. So if any other solutions can be given I would appreciate it.

Can you check "stdout.txt" in your installation folder for any output? This might be a known problem that I'll have a potential fix for soon. Sorry about the inconvenience.

Having trouble locating this? Can you tell me where is it exactly?

EDIT: Nevermind found it, should I just copy/paste what it says?

Ok. That's about what I expected. I'll be putting up another version onto Steam sometime within the next 24 hours for that specific problem. Technically you are under the minimum system requirements, I'm very surprised it ever worked for you but I have a theory for how I might get it to work for you again.

Thank you for the help. Like, it was running fine for the past four days since I installed it aside from the occasional graphical glitch. So I was surprised when it suddenly stopped running properly. Hope this gets resolved.

Same issue here - was running fine and then suddenly white screen. Of course by "fine" yes I was under minimum specs but it ran fine in a window at resolution 1152x864 with just a bit chopped off to either side. Could not run full screen mode. Only issue was occasional hiccup in the music but otherwise it was fine and still quite playable even with the edges of the window off-screen.

Today I go to load it up and I noticed 2 thing: 1) the loading screen was WAY faster than before. Like a fraction of the time it took before on this thing. Awesome! But 2) the main menu is a pure white screen. I tried various settings in settings.ini such as vsync, frame limiting, and setting the game to fullscreen mode with my actual native resolution (which did work in the fact that it went full screen and I could see the Loading bar part just fine, but then went a white screen).

I'll join the pile-on here. :)

It's been running okay on my old Dell Inspiron 1525 at 1280x800, with slowdown unless I turn off Dynamic Backgrounds. I seem to have an almost identical stdout.txt file.

Hey guys. Can you try the Beta branch of Steam? I just uploaded a potential fix:

Instructions for how:

Right click on FTL in Steam and select "Properties". From the "Beta" tab you can choose to opt into the Beta Builds. Put in the password "betapatch" (without the quotes) and press "Check Password" and it will download.
