Cease fire button for boarders?
I was doing so well, a crew of six, starting to get my boarding activities on...boarded a slug vessel where the O2 is cut off. I decide to take the ship intact after destroying most of its systems, and warp my away team into their O2 room but..oh no! Only 1 hull left?! ABORT, ABORT. PLEASE. GUYS STOP SHOOTING ITS NOT SA--

You could have quickly paused and redirect them to either a room without any systems (though some of the slug ships don't have empty rooms) or a room where other enemies are.

I assume you're talking about the enemy ship class "Slug Interceptor" which has its oxygen system literally cut off from the rest of the ship right? So you couldn't actually move your boarding party, because there wasn't anywhere to go.
Hm. Well take solace in the fact that once you had teleported your guys over, you couldn't have saved yourself. You kind of made a bad decision, but don't worry, I do those probably far more frequently than you, so you're not a bad player.
As to your suggestion of a ceasefire weapon, it sounded good to me at first, but then I though, you don't really send boarders to an enemy ship to not fight the other crew. Bit counter intuitive to the entire concept.
Try naming your crew after family and friends. Whenever I do that, I tend to value their lives a bit more and stop risking their lives needlessly.

Dude.
Of COURSE I name them after my bros. I lost some of my closest friends that day. Do you have any idea how quiet it is on the ship now? Hardly anyone fucking talks to me. I can't stand it. The mess is a god damned ghost town. I killed my best friends.
All I wanted.
Was a god damned button.
We will always remember them.

Re: Cease fire button for boarders?
haha i did this last night with the ship you unlock from beating the game. sent my experienced mantis and rockman over and stopped my weapons from shooting... but forgot about the auto laser. the ship only had a few hull points left and the laser shot through, destroying it and my crew just before i had one too
then in the next jump, i encountered a slug crew that disabled my O2 which i hadnt upgraded
everyone else except for a rock guy and an engi suffocated to death
it wasnt nice. the ship was VERY empty afterwards and i was very sad...

You can cancel it by de-powering but you cannot prevent your guys from blowing up enemy system, which is really bad in some cases.

As long as you don't beam them into an isolated room you can keep them on the move preventing them from attacking any thingHissatsu wrote:You can cancel it by de-powering but you cannot prevent your guys from blowing up enemy system, which is really bad in some cases.

Yes of course but it has been established that OP beamed them into a sealed off O2 room on slug ship
