Specs :
4-Slot teleporter : because it's way cooler then a 2-slot one.
Lvl 2 Clonebay : You can fight and kill AI-ships if you're willing to give up crew (early on). And your crew might actually get healed enough for the next encounter without having to kill them yourself...
Weapons : Two ion stunners : If the odds seem against you, stun some crew before going in. It might tip the scale. Or keep that pesky clonebay ionized whilst your Manti kill of the remaining crew.
Lifeform scanner : No sensors, no problem. You can see what you're going up against even in the thickest of nebula's. Remember that internal drones don't show up.
Artillery (CE required) : Like all my creations, this one comes with artillery support. No spoilers for now, you can watch the video below if you really need to know without trying it yourself.
Starting crew : 2 Manti and 2 Engi
That pretty much covers what makes this ship stand out.

About the art :
The ship's hull doesn't really fit in all too well with the normal FTL style, I am well aware of that. At this point I really have no idea on who to give credit for the image I started with. All I know is that it comes from the "PJ Gallery". I have had a decent amount of work getting it suited to be turned into a proper image to make it worthwhile to use in FTL. Here's the default image :

(Actual size, If the person that created this image would like some credit, feel free to leave a note. I'll be happy to)
As you can see if you compare it to the picture of the completed ship. A lot needed to be done :
*Resize
*Rotate
*Change the color of the orange markings to red
*Cut out the middle piece of the wings to make it fit
Also had to resize a shield image, create gibs for it and make a cloaking image.
I'm probably more proud about this then I should be, but this is the first I actually did something that resembles photo editing.
As of yet I still have no clue on how the game makes those flames appear when powering up the engines on the Kestrel and Federation cruiser or I would've done something with that.

Hull image I started out with : No idea (yet)
