Need a way to see all paths out of selected node
Sometimes there is only one node to the exit but a couple of paths that look like they could lead to the exit and it is very difficult to judge. Often taking the wrong path involves too much backtracking and leads to a death due more to an interface difficulty than poor playing, which can be pretty frustrating. I hope to see something that solves this problem and lets the player make informed pathing decisions in the future!

There should be lines on the map connecting all of the beaconsSamm wrote:Sometimes there is only one node to the exit but a couple of paths that look like they could lead to the exit and it is very difficult to judge. I'd actually prefer if it were only those beacon's you've visited- once you've upgraded piloting.

As I've suggested in another thread, if you download map data for a sector it should show you all the jump lines.

I don't think it would look good to show all the lines between every beacon simultaneously - that would be far too confusing of a jumble (it might be a bit interesting to see, but it'd be a horribly terrible interface for usability in the game).nfiea wrote:There should be lines on the map connecting all of the beacons
(I can't post it as an image, but this image is one possible form of how it could possible end up looking.)

I suggest you stick to your method of printing a screen shot and measuring it with a ruler while the rest of us with brains powerful enough to read a map will use the new method. You can ignore lines right? I guess they could add a feature to turn it off so the bright lines of light don't hurt your eyes.Icehawk78 wrote:I don't think it would look good to show all the lines between every beacon simultaneously - that would be far too confusing of a jumble (it might be a bit interesting to see, but it'd be a horribly terrible interface for usability in the game).nfiea wrote:There should be lines on the map connecting all of the beacons
