Mod request/help

So I have never touched modding before, but I was playing today and got to the final stand. I was able to take out the first phase without taking any damage and disabled all weapons with fire bomb. Knowing full well that the 2nd phase has a crazy drone strike I focused the drone control bay. Even with it down the drones still came out during the special attack. Is there any mod out there that can change that to not work if the flagships drone control is down? I spent 15 minutes searching and found nothing. If not then could anyone teach me to mod? I have some experience modding other games, minecraft, terraria, and Halo 3, but not FTL.
