I've recently tried to unpack the dat files in order to start some modding but Windows 8's terrible software prevents me from downloading the unpacking tools (I did this successfully with my previous pc with Windows 7).
Is it any way we could have the content of those files available to download?
Thanks!

Re: Unpacking in Windows 8
Slipstream Mod Manager has that function in-built. KuroSaru's FTL Dat Manager can also be used to quickly unpack resources, and allows you to repack them after changing individual files. Useful while you're modmaking if you don't want to create .ftl files just yet but want to test WIP stuff.
