Has nobody ever considered making a tool to create events/ items without the need of tedious copy,paste, edit of the blueprints.xml?
I think such a tool would make modding much easier, and encourage mod creation by less experienced modders.

It did cross my mind several times, but I never felt like there's a need for such a thing. Also figured that one GUI editor is enough...
Maybe if I'll have some spare time and get my other projects to a satisfactory point.

I'm conflicted whether that's a good thing or not. Tools make it easier to work with files without having the understanding of how they work....encourage mod creation by less experienced modders.

Well, an event coding tool will be helpful as hell, since thats the hardest part of coding for ftl (in fact the only part i had real troubles). But i also think making a tool for that will be a nightmare. It will need to have as well some sort of testing option (this will be essential), and i dont know if that will be as accurate as testing in-game.
