A couple of questions

Post by simon »

Hey all, I want to have a go at making my own mods and I have a couple questions what is the ideal image size for the ships and is there a way to completely hide the weapons or do they have to 'pop out'. I want to do a shadow battlecrab from the B5 series and it would look silly with the weapons stuck on the sides. Hope these haven't already been answered somewhere sorry if they have.

Thanks in advance

I'd say ships that are around the size of the Kestrel are of a good size - crystal cruisers and bigger, while technically possible, don't really look and play well, IMO.

As for weapon mounts, it is possible. Weapon graphics are drawn on a layer below hull image layer, so you can hide them without a problem, they don't have to stick out.

OK, thank you for your help I'll shrink the image I'm using down to about the kestrel size
