I would like to purchase FTL to play on my netbook when I leave on trips / vacations, however I've found a lot of people having problems with smaller resolutions, such as 1024 x 600 (the resolution of my Eee PC).
I'd like to know if this has been fixed and hence whether I should spend my cash or if I should look for another netbook game. I've played it before on a friend's computer and the game was awesome, but I don't want to waste my money if I won't be able to play it on my netbook.
Otherwise are there any tools to fix the resolution problem on smaller displays?
FTL is not a netbook game. The resolution requirement is not something that can merely be "fixed". It would require massive interface rework. No such massive rework is currently on plan, as far as I know.
I know people have managed to play at lower resolutions either by "dezooming" the game (but then text becomes very hard to read, and interface is hard to click) or by "panning" the game (but then panning is a dangerous chore in the middle of a fight). I would not recommend it as a proper way to play the game; technical requirements are there for a reason.
