Requesting disabling missiles being able to pierce shields

Post by McLovin »

This is the 1 thing that kills me every time, and I feel it creates an unnecessary intense need for defense drones.

dude! the whole point of missiles is so you can pierce shields, but it comes at a cost!
Are you a mantis? Do you lack ships to fight and Zoltans to chew? Look no further! Come to your nearest mantis warcamp in the Zoltan Homeworlds or Zoltan controled sector and ask for a free brochure about how to farm the Zoltan! Results may very.

Indeed. Try investing more into the engines, and don't be shy to run the hell away when you see that you'll get killed by the missiles. Better alive than dead. Alternatively, try focusing fire on their weapon systems... Either way works :)

Missiles and beams can be extremely lethal. Missiles because they defeat strong shields, and beams because they never miss and hit multiple rooms.

Having speedy engines is one of the most usefull upgrades you can have. Once you have 2 layers of shielding, upgrade your engines a lot.

If you REALLY MUST disable the piercing, get a tool to unpack the data.dat file. Go to blueprints.xml and look around until you find weapon blueprints for the things you wish to disable piercing on. There will be a condition called <sp>x</sp>. The x is the amount of shield piercing. Just change it to zero and repack the data.dat.
