Great Scrap Farming With Ion Bursts

I found out that 2 Ion Bursts Mk2 can take down any ship which has no cloaking and lv3 shields in no time
just auto fire the weapons system and oxygen system (might need an auto-reloader and maxed weapons man)
even if the shields de-ion the Ion bursts will take it down b4 the weapons and oxygen de-ion
if the ships has a med-bay, just take it down with any weapon you have or risk using your Ion Burst on it.
i made tons of scrap from this tactic, i bought every possible ship upgrade (its a shame i didnt screenshot it )

but then again getting even 1 Ion burst Mk2 is nearly impossible, i had to do this with the Torus ship cuz t starts with 2 of em,

One run with the Zoltan-B I found a Heavy Ion. With both starting Ion Blast I's and the Heavy, I could juggle them and suffocate a few crews. I think it was my first victory with that ship.

As far as scrap yield is concerned, if you do not damage a ship, do you gain more scrap than you would if you damaged it to win the battle. That would make a strong case for ion weaponry over blaster and beams, with teleport somewhere in between.

As far as I can tell, there're no difference in scraps rewards between damaging the ship or not damaging the ship before you kill the crew.
