My Seventh Sector Fail

I think probably a lot of you has had this happen to them before. It was a standard day on the Mantis Cruiser type B.
I had 6 Mantis and 2 Engi. I had 2 weapons (1 Hermes and 1 Burst Laser Mk1). I was completely ready for the flagship, I thought as I came across an Engi Bomber (also in an asteroid belt). This is where the TWIST happens. So I thought OK, this should be easy, just kill everyone inside. Now those who are new, the Mantis Cruiser Type B has a 4-Man teleporter, instead of the normal 2-man. So I sent 4 of my Mantis in, leaving my 2 Mantis and my 2 Engi left. I had also sent my Boarding Drone, but I soon deactivated it once I teleported. So I teleported to the weapons bay, thinking I could kill the weapons guy, while back in the ship I use my weapons to use. The enemy crew had died, but I still had 4 loading seconds to wait for. But here's the bad part: not only was the ship filled with holes (making it hard for me to breath), but I was in an ASTEROID BELT. The Bomber had 2 Hull points left, and I still had 3 loading seconds. I nearly cried :cry:

The Engi Bomber had exploded right as my teleporter had recharged, leaving my 4 Mantis doomed. I had to survive the rest of the game with 2 Mantis and 2 Engi. I did end up dying by the Rebel Flagship.

Man, that sucks. Sorry to hear that has happened to you.

I remember one time when I was first learning the teleporter by practicing with it installed on the Kestrel A. I sent two of my three starting crew on board but forgot to turn my weapons off of auto-fire. I think you can guess what happened next...

I feel ya, the teleporter is a cruel, cruel system... RIP brave Mantise.

I still remember my first bording of a auto-scout ("WTF no air? oh... ofcourse....")
Forgetting weapons on Autofire and blowing the ship up has happend..
Also a sad day when the enemy had lvl 2 doors preventing me from running my crew around the ship avoiding damage and waiting for the teleporter to charge after an ill-advised assault.

I just had something similar happen when I pelted a ship's med bay and forgot that bringing down its shield would make it vulnerable to asteroids... I meticulously checked the hull points to make sure I wouldn't kill it but failed to account for that final flying rock.
