Is there an indication of rooms that will be hit by a beam?

Hey guys, FTL fan here. I gotta say, it's one of the most enjoyable games I've played, but I had a question about beam weapons. How do you arrange the angle so that it hits as many rooms as possible?

For the most part I think I got the gist of it, but there are still some occasions where I miss rooms with Mini Beam. Is it possible to hit 4 rooms with it? Or, is there an indicator like a red outline or surrounding the room or something that shows which rooms are about to be hit by it?

Sometimes you can hit 4 but it depends on the ship layout. Usually you can hit 3 at least. As for being certain, well all i can say is that as long as you clip the room interior even slightly, the room will count as hit. Clipping the room walls is not enough.

i think the beam should be reworked
that click and drag is not very handy and sometimes need a good mouse to hit all possible ship rooms
just think of this : let's say u have a beam weapon on key 2
i think would be better when press first time key 2 to see whole beam and rotate it with scroll activate it with left mouse click, or a second click on key 2 to cancel it

Its not click and drag, its just two clicks.
