C'mon, buff the Stealth Ships.
Make them start with the stealth weapons augment built it, they are already the worst ships (Don't deny it, 'tis true), if its a STEALTH ship, give it STEALTH weapons! At the very least, as a starting aug (BUILT IN, PLEASE)
I hate FTL...
But I love it at the same time...

give them high evade right off the bat, like 35+% so that we can handle ourselves... nearly impossible on hard mode

But without stealth weapons, first level cloak is almost useless if you fire your lasers.

Re: C'mon, buff the Stealth Ships.
I partialy agree with a buff for the stealth ships.
The Nessasio is a challenge but has a fair chance of success (when not encountering attack drones and beam weapons, of course). It has fast firing weapons which can let you get a few hits before your enemy (let the enemy shot right before you cloak). A skilled player can pull it off.
The DA-SR 12 is another story. Slower engines coupled with the slowest charging weapon in the game mean that if you do not get an outrageously lucky run you are doomed to go up in flames at around sector 3-4.
If previously I thought the Vortex was bad (and it isn't, the heavy ion is an excellent shield breaker), I am now positive that the stealth B is the most difficult ship to pilot.
I think the DA-SR 12 definetly deserves another augment at the very least - the auto loader perhaps (the glaive would still charge slower then any other weapon), or maybe a backup weapon - the helpless fealing of getting hit in the weapons room with a half charged glaive is just awful.

Re: C'mon, buff the Stealth Ships.
I had an outrageously lucky run with the DA-SR 12.
Encountered an shieldless automated drone, took it out with one sweep (paused game, lined up the beam at one corner to cut 3 rooms... disgusting damage) got some more resources, encountered a ship (I believe it was Federation) chased by Pirate (1 shield), took it out, got a slug crew, went onto a planet with cute life forms, telepathically communicated, got an Engi
Distress call from sick station, sent in the Engi XD more resources.
Eventually, find store... Pre-Igniter. Sell Long Range Sensors (sniff), 121 scrap total, buy Pre-Igniter. BWHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAA
Obliterated everything in Sector 1, and 2. Found an Ion bomb and a Pegasus Launcher. Got a damaged stasis pod, got it opened (I think blue choice Zoltan event opened it) but couldn't find a Rock Homeworld in my remaining sectors : [
Hired a Mantis in a store, enemy boarders just died to Crystal + Mantis = NO RUNNING AWAY. Had both Defense Drone I and II, but stuck with I because of reasonable power draw.
Final boss fight I was easy.
Fight 2 was a bit hectic when I had 4 boarders and a boarding drone (for some reason my defense drone didn't shoot it down!) on board... I had like 3 hull breaches going on... and then my med bay took a hit... luckily it was Medbay II
Fight 3 was over quickly. Pop shields, hit, wait, cloak, hit hit win.
I love the Glaive. But damn, that thing eats power. And the SR 12 is amazingly fragile.

Re: C'mon, buff the Stealth Ships.
Well the B type is very very tough to play, but you aren't forced to play it. Consider it a challenge.
The A type is very strong in the early game and needs no buff at all. It is capable of defeating most sector 1 and 2 enemies with ease, and you can upgrade the cloak early to give it even more power. The Dual lasers + Mini Beam combo is devastating. Asteroids or flares are a problem, and any enemies with attack drones are going to hurt plenty, but you have the LR Sensors and Titanium Casing to help survive those.
The real weakness of the Nesasio is that it cannot finish the game with it's starting weapons, so finding better guns is largely down to chance.
It's probably my favorite ship, and i have a video here that may help you survive in it. I didn't really do well later on but sectors 1 and 2 should show that it's no weakling at all. Video - Odd Choice

Re: C'mon, buff the Stealth Ships.
Titanium Systems Casing is a joke. The only worth it has is the 50 scrap it sells for to reduce the cost of obtaining shields. With Rock Plating, 15% chance is fine because hull damage comes fast, but individually the damage doesn't cripple your ship, not to mention it has tons of blue options. Titanium Systems Casing just does not cut it for defense when even a single point of damage not hitting that meager 15% can seriously ruin your day.
I agree that the Nesasio is a fairly reasonable ship that requires a bit more technical handling than most, and have had fun with it once I got into the swing of it, but the only thing I use Titanium Systems Casing for is selling it for shields at the first opportunity.

Titamium casing is somewhat broken, I agree. I would expect it to be placed with the DA-SR 12, and not the Nessasio, as you are much more likely to get hit with the stealth B.
I'm waiting for a patch which will automaticly remove the cloaking recovery time once a fight is done.... I must have made about 30 jumps with the cloak still ionized

Are you playing the latest version? When you start the game in the lower left corner it should say v. 1.03.1

Re: C'mon, buff the Stealth Ships.
Patch is on steam, didn't buy the game from there..... did not see any other link for downloading the patch.
Looks like I'll finally get the otrageously lucky run I wanted with the stealth B
(glaive is in the cargo bay)

Here is a copy of the continue file if anyone wants to give it a go, from the end of sector 4 :

Have fun, and keep on FTLing !
