I'm having issues designing a hull...
Basically, I was creating a ship in Superluminal, and instead of using one of the ship hulls in the game like I usually do, I wanted to create my own ship hull. Well, I don't really know what program to use, so I was thinking of using something like MS Word to get the gibs in the way I had them in Superluminal, grouping them and then saving the image for use, but would that allow me to use the image in Superluminal? Thanks for any help!

Use GIMP or Paint.NET or some sort of image-processing software that allows multiple layers and colour options and is somewhat more simple than Photoshop.

photoshop - requires $ to get, haven't tried it, but it looks good.
GIMP - free. not that easy to figure out at first, but there are numerous tutorials out there explaining what each thing does. good in terms of function
paint.net - free. good and little bit easier to use than GIMP, but GIMP's functionality is what makes me like it more.
though GIMP may be a little hard to use at first, its abilities make it shine.
use whatever you like the most. don't hesitate to be bound by these; there are probably other good image editing software options out there.

I think you can get photoshop CS2 for free so long as you make an Adobe account.
(I use photoshop CC, since I have it for work anyway)

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help! GIMP has been pretty useful in designing my own hulls, so thanks!

Are you making them from scratch? If you are, well done! I just mash up the game's gibs & re-colour :LYoshiGaming wrote:Thanks guys, I appreciate the help! GIMP has been pretty useful in designing my own hulls, so thanks!

For now, I'm using the gibs but if I ever get any good with graphic design and pick up a decent pad for drawing on a PC, then I may start designing my own. Maybe one day
