[Player Mechanic] Borg

I am new here, and I have also not made any mods. I am curious as to the feasibility of creating an augment/race to simulate assimilation. The thought being that when one of your crew damages an enemy crew to a certain % or health value they become your crew and become "borg". Has this already been on here? If so I have embarrassed myself. Now even if this were functional it would bring about the problem of having WAY too many crewmembers. I had thought that the crew could provide bonuses? Perhaps an augment that allows crew to be sacrificed at an empty beacon? What I'd like is to make a ship with nothing but a teleporter, propulsion, steering and the zolton shield bypass. Also plenty of room to store more crew.

Any thoughts?

I don't think what you're suggesting is possible BUT it could be done via the events system.

One event is that the enemy ship surrenders and you use your "Assimilation" augment to scrap the enemy ship and gain a crew member (Can't create new races so the best option is to turn them into Ghosts or something). This would require a lot of work though in setting up the events. But this'd be close enough to what you're suggesting.
Then at an idle beacon or something you can use it again to kill off a crew member and gain some reward like another augment or scrap or a gun.
Or you just don't want 8 crew members and can't be bothered to dismiss them.

I guess I need to look into modding. I've downloaded superluminal2 and am looking for a solid tutorial. I'm not computer savvy so it could take a bit. But i'd like to see how much I could change. I want to see what you're talking about.
