[Question] Is it possible to make a "damaged" ship?
The question just popped into my head. By "damaged," I mean starting with less hull than the maximum. For example, a Kestrel that starts with 29 health, but can repair up to 30.

The only way I can think to do it is to have the starting event ("The data you carry is vital to the Federation Fleet...") cause damage to your ship.

Hm... But if you have multiple ships in the mid, each on would be damaged by the starting event, correct? It's a work-around, but I'm not sure if it's possible for only one ship to trigger the event.

Having ship damage already when starting the game? Hell yeah, that sounds like another way to make Hard Mode harder. Could even be a choice at the start...
"Your ship is carrying data vital to the Federation..."
1) Continue...
2) Captain, we took more damage than expected in our escape!

The thing is, I don't want to make it a choice. I want it to only happen to a particular ship.

Have it happen to a particular ship by giving that ship a specific dummy augment, then using the augment to trigger the blue event.
It's still going to be a choice though.

Still not exactly what I'm looking for, though. The player could still avoid damage by not selecting the blue option... I would prefer it if it wasn't a choice.

Looks like you're shit out of luck, then. Take it or leave it.

Re: [Question] Is it possible to make a "damaged" ship?
Actually, you could make it a forced choice if the ship has the dummy augment. I keep encountering this mess whenever doing event coding but I think if you don't close certain tags or the whatnot, you either get a random event, a game crash or the ability to only go for a blue option.
I know Captain's Edition has several events like that - I get into a fight with another ship and I have to use a ship augment (radiation projector, teleport disruptor) even if I don't want to. So it might be possible through bad coding
