How do you use the stealth ship?

SO I get it thinking it s the coolest thing ever(Never bought a cloaking system). But soon find out NO SHIELDS!!! and you cloak runs out and has to reload for like 40 secs. How do you use this!!!!

you can buy shields for 150 scrap. You will have to be clever for the first sector or 2 until you save up.

You are supposed to use the stealth system to get the first strike and shoot at their weapon system o they can't shoot back at you.

There are 2 major tactics:
- The first one is to cloak instantly after ariving the place, so you can get the advantage of shooting first and try to damage their Weapons before they can shoot.
- The second Tactic is to wait till the Enemy shots his first Volley and to cloak before it can hit you and then firing back. This gives you a little more time than the first one, but you need to know, if all the enemies weapons are fired at the same time, otherwise the first one is better, except if you got the stealth weapons augmentation

Both tactics depend on shutting down the enemies weapons within the first volley, while you cant defend the second volley if his weapons are still up after your first attacks. For that you should buy a shield very early to compensate that or to max cloak very fast and to buy the stealth weapon augmentation early (depends a littlebit on luck^^). But normally, you should go through the first 1-2 Sectors without big problems.

If it's a ship with just weapons, as everyone here's said, try to knock out their guns ASAP and then work on all the rest. I personally like to cloak when my own weapons are ready to fire.

If they've got attack drones and guns before you have shields, your best hope is to put all power to engines, cloak pretty much on arrival, and try to get out before they tear your ship to pieces and kill your crew off (unless you've got defence drones of your own, I suppose, but I've never had the scrap at exactly the right moment).

I generally tend to sell the titanium plating if I'm running low on scrap and there's something that urgently needs to get bought, because it's a pretty significantly early injection of 50s, with the (fairly minimal) trade-off of losing a less than 1/6 chance to avoid systems damage.

Nobody mentioned that but imo it's best to wait till your both weapons are locked on before shooting volley (With proper timing you can shoot lasers just before beam is locked on).
Why? Because if you want to hit 3 or 4 rooms with the beam you have to shoot it as soon as enemy's shield is pierced and before second laser hits (pause is very useful).
I always aim their weapon system.

Anyone got any tips for unlocking the stealth ship achievements? The one where you go to section 8 without jumping into anyplace with environmental danger is easy enough, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the other two. I guess if I luck out with good weapons and the stealth weapons enhancement I could do them, but any other advice?

for the bird of prey you find shieldless drone. Wait for your weapons to charge, fire and stealth at the same time, then you should be able to finish them in the second volley. This is assuming fast weapons or stealth weapons or a LOT of cloak time.
