I'd also go with Stealth B. It does require a lot of luck of course. Just getting a pre-igniter is rare. However, if you can find one early enough the Stealth B is a sure fire way of getting the achievement.

You can still get it late in the game though. There are odd occasions where you'll find a shieldless A.I. ship without a ton of hull points. That takes luck of course.

GOT IT!

Tried using the Stealth B, had to restart a few times within the first few jumps, but after I finally got going I was extremely lucky to find a pre-igniter in a store in sector 2, and just enough cash to buy it if I sold the long-distance sensors. Managed to get the achievement straightaway in the next jump.

Woo hoo! 100%. Only took 152 hours Bring on AE!
