Space Pirates and Zombies player ships

I have this project that I'm working on to make a few of the spaz ships in ftl. I plan on posting the ships here until they're all done, but first I want to know if anybody can tell me if there would be any legal issues with using ship models from another game in my mod.

Edit: I have the right hook done and I am thinking about posting it in a new thread in working mods.

That's a question for the SPAZ creators - being their assets, it'd be their call whether they'd permit it. Usually developers won't have a problem with it unless you're looking to turn a profit in some way (that means no adf.ly links, too), but not everyone is cool with having their work appropriated for other purposes. When it comes to raw legal questions, most of the time you'll only see C&D's issued to higher-profile mods whose work can in some fashion be confused with an "official" product.
