I'm not too sure that would work because of how the flagship crew AI works in Phase 3. What you see for any other ship is 'Standard' behaviour, where they can retreat if they or their ship is in trouble. However, Phase 3 of the flagship has 'Invasion' AI, where they throw everyone except the pilot at you and don't bother recalling anyone.

Then it doesn't matter if the AI Awakening event doesn't re-enable medbay.

Are we going to be fighting HAL then. "I'm sorry Rebels I'm afraid I can't let you live". "The mission is to important for me to allow you to deactivate me" lol

"Targeting Jammer - Attempts to scrambles* the enemy weapon targeting." - scramble

"Your Zoltan crew member seems a little sad .... It misses ... the space station it has lived* in** a few years ago." - 1) "lived" (remove has), or "was living"; 2) I would use "on", but this is a minor quibble.

"The Zoltan enquirers on* how you feel. Im** always happy ...." - 1) "asks how you feel"; 2) I'm

"Eh* captain? I have to explain something. It's** news comes as a surprise: Your Mantis has been secretly mating with on*** of it's**** kind in the last sector." - 1) add comma after "Eh"; 2) Its; 3) one; 4) its; actually, I think "with one of its kind" may be redundant, unless you think rishathra is a common practice. (But with a Mantis?! ) So, I propose: "your Mantis was secretly mating in the last sector." (This was quite a feat, as I only had one on board, and I don't remember making any stops. :? )

Next: "I know* you would understand.... Your crewmen** is happy to not have to hide it's*** offspring anymore and promises the newborn will be no burden and fight**** for you just as loyal***** as it's****** parent." - 1) knew; 2) crewman (do we think this term applies to females as well? Should it be "Your crewwoman" Or maybe just use "She" instead?); 3) its; 4) will fight; 5) loyally; 6) its. [And holy shit, I just got a new Mantis! :o ]

"Your Mantis is busy sharpening it's* claw**." - 1) its; 2) claws (I think it should be plural, unless you think Mantises have just one claw?)

I'm so pissed! In sector 4? I still had the starting Zoltan B weapons (Ion Burst II and Pernach Beam), but having two Mantises, I bought a teleporter. Then I was in an asteroid field boarding a station?, and wasn't paying enough attention to how the ion weapon (drone?) took my shields down, and the missile launcher and missile? drone were shredding my hull. The enemy didn't have a medbay, but did have blast doors, so my Mantises were stuck fighting in one room. On my ship I was sending my repair crew, Engi & human, hither and yon to repair the Medbay, then I had a fire, but my door control was down, so I sent the Engi there, then my teleporter got taken out, so I sent both to repair that, as my Mantises were getting low health warnings. I finally got the teleporter repaired and pulled the Mantises back to heal when I got blown up. SHITFUCKSONOFAMOTHERFUCKINGBITCH!!!

I like the new Clone Lab Augment. I think it's an interesting idea, it's a little bit more useful than the AI Avatar generator. I know it only allows you to clone "carbon based" species, but would it be possible to make an augment that allows you to "clone" your crew members whenever they die in an event? Basically my thought was maybe if you have the Clone Lab and a giant-alien spider kills one of your crew and you have the augment could you choose a blue option and "clone" your dead crew mate (maybe just using stored DNA samples)? Technically they just won't die at all, but it would seem like an exact clone with all their skills, name, etc... was created. (Though I guess you won't actually get to see who died hmm...) I think this would make the clone lab even more useful and distinguish it from the AI Avatar Generator a lot more. It would certainly be useful just for those events where you're afraid to risk your crew or even for a sole survivor challenge run. Also good for people who get really attached to their crew, like me. :D

On the other hand, I was also thinking maybe there should be some more events where your crew can die randomly, but they should die trying to save the rest of your crew and/or doing something heroic... Not becoming breakfast for an alien spider.

That concept was considered, but then discarded. It would seem incoherent that you can't clone people that die in active combat. Also there is no way to check if the dying crew member is a carbon based live form. Allowing to clone all factions would make the aug unreasonable powerful. I'd really like to implement what you suggested, but one more time, modding limit's get in the way.

But the whole thing concerning flagship AI takeover seems feasible. The Flagships boarding behaviour could be change to the regular "sabotage". This would make the flagship suffocate most of it's bio crew, it could then hopefully manage to teleport back some of its boarding avatars. But I'd rather leave it as "invasion", so that the Rebel crew "deliberately" evacuates the ship and hands the last part of the fight over to the AI.

You can't change the AI routine mid-event? Setting it to sabotage or even stay-in-flagship would do their purpose if they're activated on the AI awakening event, as at that point the flagship has no more human crew, regardless of wether the AI rebellion happened or not.

Nope, boarding behaviour currently is permanently fixed in the blueprint.

I think that "sabotage" is better, as it ensures that lazer survivor die, too. Otherwise, how you would explain AI deactivating oxygen support, with guy in laser compartment?

As for Mantis and mating, I opt for leaving "with one of its kind" in place. Just to avoid confusion ;)

Is there really supposed to be elite auto-scout spotters at the end of sector 1 with multiple rocket launchers?
Also, the fleet artillery hit me faster then my engine charges (3 bars).

I think its a bit hard for the first sector
