Picture of it working well!
A Short Video of it working!
I'm running ubuntu 12.04 on a Acer AOD250 Aspire one netbook. I don't know if that's what you've got, but it works wonders. Things I've installed (for linux naturally) Also I have but a marginal idea what I'm doing.
Netflix desktop
Steam (duh)
Dropbox
TuxonIce
Something something X-Swat (I think it was in relation to video drivers)
I've added Hibernate, and fully updated everything. Also updated my drivers recently.
We must figure this out! It runs like a dream! If anybody has any clues on what I could upload for people to sift through and discover the cause of why I can do this without the game looking bizarre, I'm willing to deliver!
A GOOD bug. Somehow works on 1024 x 600 resolution netbook!

Re: A GOOD bug. Somehow works on 1024 x 600 resolution netbo
You're one of the lucky ones that can play FTL on that resolution.
While oficially the game requires 1280×720 and also oficially is not supported on other resolutions, it doesn't quite mean it can't be done. Just that there is no guarantee that it will work well or at all. One way to do it, is to edit the settings.ini file (it's in your FTL game folder) and set a resolution manually. - NOT recommended! Don't do this unless you understand what resolutions your monitor can use!
There are some older threads on the forum regarding resolution fixes, for example http://www.ftlgame.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3437. You can find similar discussions by searching the forum. For example: "resolution fix"

Code: Select all
#Manual resolution choices - overrides anything in the options
#Set manual to 1 and then change the resolution
#Does not check if values are valid. Use with caution.
#If you do support GL_ARB_framebuffer_object, "stretched" will not function
manual=0
screen_x=0
screen_y=0
windowed=0
stretched=0
