One new concept involves missile based weapons that deal damage only to hull. Mine launchers where planed to play that role, but I'm not so satisfied with their sprites yet. I still want to salvage that idea, but I'm looking for another way to make the weapons appear distinct and graphically appealing, so maybe I'll change what it is supposed to be altogether. Other ideas involved making it a kind of torpedo, a kind of air burst missiles or super small swarm missiles. All not really doable with how FTL handles projectiles and impacts. Let's see where it goes.
1.055 will also integrate some of the changes the sM Polish Kit made directly into CE. This mod improves the vanilla game in a lot of ways, with often small but very effective changes.
Some new events (generic distress variety) are also on my to do list, as well as some more vanilla event modifications. Some long planed features like the sector specific loot lists and the ships with encased systems might finally see the light of day as well.
