game wont start, need help

I recently installed FTL from steam and attempted to change the screen settings from the default to native full screen. upon restarting the game it went to the menu but the window was far to large, I could only see the middle section of the screen and only the far left side of the menu showed up. furthermore, my cursor was not showing up so I couldn’t even go to the options menu to change the screen settings back. now when I load it won’t even go past the loading screen. i tried uninstaling and reinstalling it, but it apparently saved my erronious setting. please help

In your FTL folder (in /program files/steamapps i think) you should see a file named settings.ini Open that file with Notepad and look for fullscreen=N. Set fullscreen=2 and save the file. You should be back in fullscreen with a working mouse and will be able to alter settings in game.

If the file doesn't exist, run FTL once, maybe the file is created after running the game first time.
