I was hoping to find a mod, much like infinite space except where you are still fleeing the Rebels and exploring. What I was hoping for is a double or triple sector distance journey, so you have to go through 3 times as many sectors to get to the boss at the end, and I wanted sectors to be a bit bigger. Containing double the amount of systems to visit before you reach the end. Maybe if this one were there, then I'd rather double sector map instead of triple.
It would be nice if the sector map had more than 2 choices each time you reach an end point. So you could get lucky and be able to choose from 3 or 4 places to jump to instead of just 2.
I looked in all the dat files, I didn't find anything that would edit how many systems per sector or how many sectors appear in the campaign before you reach the end or anything like that.

I think the number of beacons per sector is hardcoded and i'm not sure it's possible to have more than 7 sectors in the game. There's also the issue of balance to consider but such a mod would probably have a means to deal with player earning much more scrap.

Actually there are 8 playable sectors, and i dont think you can add more sectors, i haven seen it yet. And as i made on my mod, u can raise the number of beacons for specific events in the sector.xml file, but there is a universal limit as far as i know, that once reached, no more beacons will appear. I dunno if this "limit" can be changed, but im afraid it is hardoced..
About balance, yes, if u make a mod like infinite space just only with the fleet delay pursuit part and more beacons, the game will be automatically nerfed and it will be very boring and easy. Using delay fleet mods and such things are more oriented to mods, that uses other mechanics (mine, for example) with other specially modded ships , special events and etc..
