After jumping to their sixth sector which happened to be an Engi system, Lord Stark and his sons Jon Snow and Rob Stark jump to a beacon only to be attacked by a large pirate vessel, with only a quarter of hull integrity left it seemed to be their final destination.
In an act of bravery Jon Snow beams to the enemy cruiser to buy enough time for Rob to charge the engines and jump away to another beacon, Jon perished in the battle after gallantly fighting 3 enemies.
To Eddard's and Rob's dismay the next beacon was also occupied, this time by a Rebel scout. Ned and Rob put up as good as a fight as they could before finally erupting in a final and terrible explosion.

I had sent a couple of crystal to the medbay of a mantis bomber only to forget to turn of my laser blasting it and thus destroying the ship. Then move on to fail in Sector 8.
