Defense drones and sprites

Hi, i must be blind or something, i just noticed just a few days ago that defense drones doesnt use the charged image of the drone, as the combat drones does. Is this true?? until now, i always created charged images of the drones xD, and now i realized that they have no use lol, so i changed the base defense drone image to the charged one, so i dont waste the time invested... anyways, i suposse there is no way to make defense drone charged images to work, right??

The charged images is the one you see at the ship select screen. It's not used for anything else.

Yeah that is wat i thought. Thats a shame, since with charged images , defense drones will look far better.. i guess this feature was removed for dunno wat weird reason from the game.. as many others.

You can always throw more details into the defence drones gun if you want it to be more fancy. Technically your drone could be even made of only a gun sprite.

What bugs me a little is that the drones engine sprite is displayed as overlay on top of the drone. This way we cant have propper non-round drones with visible engine fires. Engine overlaid by the drone sprite, displayed under the drone, would be nicer and easier to work with.
