I have the mouse issue that I've seen mentioned (slow and jumpy cursor movement), that for me is making the game almost unplayable unfortunately. I thought I'd contribute my system specs, in case it might help track this down:
Lenovo T400, Windows 8 Pro 64 (fully updated), Using touchpad (not external mouse) and the problem is the same both with the latest Ultranav driver from Lenovo (v.16.2.19.7), or the latest Synaptics drivers downloaded directly from Synaptics (v.16.3.15.1). Never experienced similar mouse issues in any other game or program.

It's likely a problem with your video drivers. If you email me a dxdiag dump for your system (address is zasdarq@ftlgame.com) I can check them and see if I can find more up to date ones for you. Sorry about the troubles!

Thanks for pointing to graphics driver, I had tried changing mouse driver. I had the latest official Radeon HD3400 drivers, but moving to the current *beta* driver available at amd.com solved the problem! Driver version is 8.97.100-130424a-156445E-ATI and driver date: 24.04.2013.
