Steam version Crash on completion of loading.

I've had the Steam version since it came out and went to play it again after a long time and found that when I start the game it loads up the just freezes and becomes unresponsive. I've gone through and tried everything that people have said work but nothing has worked.

Hello. Terribly sorry about the problem, generally a crash at the end of the loading is a problem with your profile. Try moving the profile file out of its proper location (described here: http://www.ftlgame.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1892) and see if that solves it. If it does, then your profile is corrupted You might need to disable the Steam Cloud which will incorrectly restore bad profiles (Right click on FTL in your Library and go to Properties and then the Updates tab to disable the cloud)

The good news is, there's a super helpful community program available for profile editing. You can use it to re-unlock any achievements or ships you may have previously had.
