The game only has 3 no-oxygen graphics: 35x70px for 1x2 rooms, 70x35px for 2x1 rooms, 70x70px for 2x2 rooms. Any other room size, it will use one of those. You can replace them or make them transparent, but those are the only dimensions available.

Would it be possible (for the modder of the ship) to replace all 3 graphics with a little "no o2" graphic, maybe "o2" with a red circle/slash in the box in the upper left (or the upper box, or the left box for the smaller graphics)?
That way it's more of an icon than an overlay.

Huh. That's actually a pretty clever solution, since IIRC all rooms bigger than 2x2 use the 1x2 graphic by default.

just bear in mind that the no-oxy stripes are 'floor' layer meaning they go below crew, and probably below room sprites as well. so it won't be very clearly visible in a lot of cases if you just have it as a little icon in the corner

First off, this thread and this post has inspired me to make my first from-scratch mod, so thanks for that! I did some testing and while I don't like the colors I chose, the graphic seems pretty noticeable even in rooms with workstations:

I'm going to fiddle with it a bit, making it a little smaller and changing the interior color, and then I'll post a new thread for it (once I read up on the rules to make sure I'm not breaking any)
