Hello everyone. Having lots of fun modding, but I could use some others' expertise. I'm trying to make a ship using Superluminal (very cool program) that has no O2 system. Conceptually it was destroyed when stealing plans for the Rebel flagship. For the most part it has worked and is playable, fun and challenging, but there are a few features/glitches I'd like worked out. Just wondering if anyone knows a way to do any of the following things or if they are possible:
Remove O2 system from stores: Right now at system stores, O2 appears costing 0 scrap. Buying it doesn't do anything. I'd prefer that it doesn't appear (like the artillery beam), because it currently eats up a store slot.
Reset crew maximum: I'd like the crew maximum set to 5 to match the number of medbay slots the ship has. One can manage more crew, but it becomes very tedious, so I'd rather that just not be an option. I saw something called crew max in the .ftl file, but it seemed to have more to do with random crew sizes for enemy ships.
Reset initial spawn location: I want to reset crew spawning to the medbay (especially at the beginning of the game). Right now there is a pretty funny "glitch" where while you have the ship loaded in the hanger, the crew slowly suffocates. Any damage they take in the hanger is carried over to the game when you start. Also if they die, then you don't get to start with that crew.
Anyway, none of these issues are critical. You can just not buy the O2, self enforce a 5 crew max, and quickly start games moving everyone to the medbay, but it would be cleaner if these issues were fixed. Thanks for reading!

Well I figured out how to remove the O2 from stores, which is good. Having become more acquainted with data.dat, I'm getting the sense that the other two are not modifiable until something like the Overdrive project is worked out. Please let me know if I'm wrong though.

Yup, the latter two cannot be changed, they're hardcoded.

Anyways i dont see the point of not to want more crew members in your ship.. crew is almost essential, more crew, better options to go through. Anyways, a medbay cant hold 5 crew members, it will be 4 crew members or 6, but theres no way to heal 5 crew members.. well, almost i dunno if placing a power control in the medbay will restrict 1 heal slot, never tried since i always make medbays without power control spots (so all the crew members will fill the entire medbay).

I have increased the size of the medbay on the ship that I'm creating so that it can hold 5 people by making a 2x3 room and putting in a power control spot. I want the crew maximum lowered for challenge, to be thematic, and to reduce tedium, but I'm alright with just dismissing crew members above 5.
