Weird Save File Load Corruption at End Boss

I was having a pretty good run my last game; I had a tough run through the second phase of the flagship but everyone made it out alive. I make one more jump after that and save & quit because I need to do something else. I should note that the flagship said it was 2-3 jumps from the rebel base last I recall.

I load up my save file and a game over screen pops up immediately upon hitting continue, without my hitting any buttons, letting me know that the rebel flagship was had annihilated the Federation base. I dunno what kind of weird bug I ran into but running into save issues right before the final boss encounter is incredibly disheartening.

It sounds like it possibly generated the wrong final map, which would put the boss in a different location and possibly too close to the federation. It's a known issue if you try to run a Windows save on a Linux/OSX machine (or visa versa)... but I haven't seen it happen from a save generated on the same machine. I assume you didn't change OSes right ? I'll check it out. Sorry about your game!

No, it's good. I was pretty mad because a similar thing happened on the end boss previously because the game gets all weird when you alt-tab out of it in fullscreen mode, but it's not the end of the world. And no, it was on the same machine, it's just really frustrating when stuff like that happens at the end of a game without multiple save files.
