Weapons editing tool.
this probably isn't a new topic or post but i figured that i'm new. Is there someone who can make a program that makes weapons editing easier. i have a hard time trying to edit weapons and the grammatical and capitolization errors isn't making my time easier. i know ultramantis and kartoflame has been helping people out with their problems but is there anyone that can make a "superlumial" or "tazadars" ship editor but for weapons?

Actually, I have been thinking about it, since it wouldn't be that hard to do (far easier than a whole ship editor, anyway...) - but I'm still struggling to get Superluminal to resemble anything that could be considered a stable, reliable release.
Besides, even if simpler, such program would still require quite a bit of work on my part. Not sure if I'll have the time for that in the coming weeks.

Most of the work with making a weapon comes in giving it some nice visuals, which an editor for the properties won't help with much.
And, if you're not caring about changing the visuals, all you do is copy the weapon's entry from the stock blueprints file to your blueprints append, and change a couple numbers (damage, cooldown, fire chance, breach chance etc). That's all there is to it really.

Weapons get tricky when you want them to do things they were not originally intended to do, otherwise they are not that hard to figure out. Unless you also want to alter the animation in which case heaven help you.
The best way to learn is to take a look at how another modder created the .append files and to replicate an existing weapon. Make a duplicate Heavy Laser with an extra shot and a different name. It may sound trivial but you learn a lot trying to make tiny changes like that.
