Crashing Issues

Post by Turkey »

Whilst this is a great game I've been having quite a few issues.

The game crashes after a while of playing most of the time, here are the logs.

http://www.turkturkleton.com/crash.01.29.18.29.txt
http://www.turkturkleton.com/crash.01.29.19.00.txt

Some of the issues include

- Game crashes after 3-10 minutes
- On the rare occassion the game doesn't crash the sound stops working and stays stopped even after I restart the game
- The game can just stop outright, or bring up the "ftl.exe has stopped working"

I have turned off the steam overlay, I have turned on the frame limiter, V-sync is turned on and the game isn't in fullscreen mode.

Not sure if I've missed anything.

Those are strange crashes that I have not seen yet. It appears to be crashing within Windows calls, those which I do not manually make. Can you make sure your Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime libraries are fully up to date? Go into the control panel's Add/Remove Programs to fully remove the ones currently installed and then reinstall them. That recently fixed an equally strange random crash experience for another player. I'll do some more research on these stack traces though and get back to you if I find anything else. Sorry about the problem.

Also, I apologize about the delay in getting your post up. You were for some reason caught by our spam protection, maybe because of the unexpected links to what I assume is your own server.

Thanks for the quick response, hopefully this doesn't get caught in the spam filter again.

I have removed all of the following and re-installed to the latest versions I could find.

Just double checking those were are the right things to remove?

I'm still getting errors.
