Women turn into men after a few restarts

I'm on windows 7, using the Steam version of the game. This is a minor annoying bug.
Steps to repeat the bug:
1. Start a new game (normal or easy);
2. Pick your ship (The Krestel);
3. Add some female crew members;
4. Play the game and getting obliterated;
5. Pick "Restart";
6. Repeat (2-3) times.

I notices after the second or third restart, that all female crew members have now been reincarnated as men.

I would like to see this bug fixed. Oh! and can we call this the trans-gender bug?

The male and female versions of the human don't make a difference, I think. Do you just want the bug fixed because you like women sprites better?

I know it's not major, but I would like to see it fixed so it doesn't ruin the fantasy, you know. How can I pretend the captain is James T Kirk, and there are no hotties on board.

I think there should also be female versions of the other aliens as well. Kirk wouldn't have it any other way. (mm... hot rock alien girls, oh yeah)

Women on board help motivate me to keep the crew safe.
