Stealth B Tip

Post by Mister Sammy »

Upgrade your cloak as soon as possible to level 3. If you can't juice it, take power from the O2 system and divert it into your cloak when you decide to activate it.

At cloak level 3, your cloak will last for 15 seconds.

The Glaive Beam requires 25 seconds to charge, however, manning the weapons system will decrease charge time by 10% - 2.5 seconds.

25-2.5=22.5

22.5-15=7.5. At roughly 8 seconds, engage your cloak. This will allow you to safely out-charge the enemy's weapons, and then knock them offline.

Have fun!

Edit: Though, in hindsight, activating your cloak at the beginning of the fight would mean that those 7.5 seconds would pass safely anyways since their weapons aren't charging to begin with. Here I thought I was being clever!

The way I do it when I got lv.3 cloak:

- Have zoltan man the engine.
- Put 2 power in cloak.
- At the start of the battle, have your zoltan walk to the cloak room and activate cloak once he's there.
- Once the cloak wear out, move your zoltan back to the engine room.

With this, you don't have to buy more power or divert your power from the O2 and without having to shuffle power around and waiting for O2 to fill; unless when you have to in some situation, that is...

Try this tip: First 50 scrap you earn, you invest in a weapons system upgrade. This will protect you from unlucky shots that will disable the slowpoke Glaive. It can still be knocked offline by a Heavy Laser or missile, or some very unlucky multiple shots, but during the very start of the game it helps to have some extra insurance.

Engage cloak right after the first enemy shot. Odds of them hitting are low (25%?), and then hitting on the weapons even lower. Unless they have some of the fastest weapons, you get the glaive shot in before they can shoot again. This works very well until enemies have 2 shields and your glaive can't destroy their weapons with one shot.

That... that is CLEVER. I wish I'd thought of that on my most recent play - I ended up with THREE Zoltans. I could have had 15-second cloaking for free!
