Say what you will about this rather plain ship, i'd say it's just plain good. The game didn't have much to offer in terms of weapons or augments, just a Scrap Recovery Arm given away by a surrendering ship and a Fire Bomb i bought along with a Teleporter to help disable enemy medbays. I sold the Artemis and replaced it with a Fire Beam for extra sizzle. I released a lot of prisoners and had no trouble stuff... i mean staffing the ship. I even had to turn people away. Towads the end two murderous Mantis raised hell on enemy ships while a Hunam/Slug combo secured the Kestrel or helped out with boarding operations. The final nail in the Mothership's coffin was surely the second Burst Laser MkII, found in a store at the very last beacon before the boss fight. The best possible thing to buy with the scrap left over after selling the Scrap Recovery Arm. All games should end like this!

I wish i could say the battle was not clumsy, but it was. Stages 2 and 3 were riddled with errors and i kept failing to notice things, but even with my ineptitude, the Mothership was toast. Pun intended.
Such a relief to actually win a game after so many failures to 'win' sector 1 in the SR-DA12.
