FTL: DRM free version after buying from Steam?

I bought the version on steam, but is there a way for me to get the non-steam version without pirating or re-buying? Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I'd like to play it places where steam isn't allowed.

That is entirely up to Steam. They offer games that can run without Steam or online activation but for some very odd reason FTL isn't one of them.

Try searching the steam forum or asking about the game's DRM status there. If all else fails you can try swapping the game with someone.
