Steam issue... ;~;

Post by Stamex »

I bought the game on Steam and I can't place the game into a flash drive without cramming the actual Steam application into it, I was hoping I could get an "independent" version of the game if I could verify that I bought it on steam, but that's highly unlikely. I really want to play this game on the go and on a small flash drive, someone please help me! ;~;

I was not aware that Steam games can be put on USB keys. Have you managed to do that with other games?

The versions offered on the game website and GOG.com are DRM-free, while the Steam version is technically not since it requires Steam to launch. You would have to email Steam about running FTL from a USB stick. Or try running it with the Steam app and FTL on the stick.

Or purchase a new copy. Check out ftlgame.com and GOG.com periodically to see if the game is on sale. At the time of writing the game is on sale on the website and sells for $5.99. Buying from the website includes a Steam key, but unfortunately buying from Steam doesn't include access to the other versions. Since Steam and GOG are competitors, buying a game from one will certainly not make the other acknowledge or reedem your purchase.

I know you don't want to spend money on a game you already bought. Just saying that this is the way to get the independent version you want.
