Squished text

Hey I recently downloaded the game. When I try to play it the text is squeezed together and I can't read anything. Someone else on this forum had the same problem. They said updating their drivers fixed it. My drivers are up to date and I still have the problem. Since it was an older post I figured I'd ask it again to see if anyone else has solved this problem. Thanks.

Please post your system specs and OS you are using. Also mention if it's a notebook or not. It's hard to just guess what might be the problem.

Some ATI cards and some Intel HD series GPUs have been known to cause problems. The ATI cards issue can sometimes be resolved by adding the line "swapTexture=1" in your settings.ini file.

Hi, I'm also running Vista on a desktop with a 256mb ATI Radeon X1300 Pro, and am getting this problem too.

I've tried adding the swaptexture line to the INI, but this has had no effect.

I've also raised this as a problem on here and added a screenshot too:

To update people, tragedytrousers was able to fix his problem. His video drivers weren't updating properly and were 5 years old After a lot of work, he was able to get them updated and it fixed the problem. Here's his final message on the subject:

""It works now! I removed the device driver from display adapters altogether, and then uninstalled and deleted every last trace of ATI from the PC. Everything was 800x600 after that, and agonisingly slow, but two hours and five reboots later it had finally finished reinstalling everything - Windows Update even got in on the act for the actual driver file."

Clearly a pain, but at least it worked.
