Saving Crew/Ship information

Guess I plunked down the 13 (lucky number that) for this game, should get the most out of it. Is there a way to save the default names of crew and ship renames? I'm used to Roguelikes where you can continue playing as a character template when you die, and it's a little jarring and annoying to re-enter data I've entered before. It'd be swell if that isn't a feature yet, to maybe have it in later runs.

Secondarily, is there anywhere you have race history/planet history/conflict history? As a player, I have the feeling there was a lot you all had put together that because of time constraints wasn't/hasn't yet been put into the game, and though we can certainly put together a lot from the events of the main story proper, I'd like to know what came before as well.

Finally and most importantly - Any Muktian - er, Spathi - er, Slug pilots named Fwiffo? I will forever dream of running into that guy in my stellar journeys... Thanks!
