But the chance to get one is very high so normally its not necessary to buy them and if he won't give you one, there are always more Slavetraders and other special Events^^Incendax wrote:Not always true. I've never had it happen where they didn't and I've run into about 15 different slavers on my play throughs. In one play through there was like 5 slavers and I got a crew from each of them. Must be a likely event, but not 100%.Incendax wrote:Not always true. Sometimes when you attack the slave ship he does not offer to give you the slave. I was about to say the same, that I thought it was 100% to get one. However, I just met 3 in a row and got no option for free slaves, they all tried to do an FTL jump.
Ah, RNGs.

The quality of the video capture is nice - what are you using to record the video & audio? I've tried a few free utilities on my laptop (a Macbook Pro) and haven't been satisfied with what I've been able to achieve under Windows 7 or Mac OS X...
Thanks,

Hey Noel. For the video, I'm using the full version of Fraps to record the gameplay, and the audio comes with it. It's probably the only video capturing software anybody is going to use nowadays. So I'd think to go with that.NWade wrote:Pete -

But for commentary, my latest video upload, it was a bit harder than normal. So I went with the, record voice on another laptop approach. Only in my circumstances I did this, because Audacity doesn't record through the record key "R" when you're not in the audacity window. So I thought I'd record my voice on another laptop.
But anyway, you should be satisfied with the full version of Fraps. I paid for it, but you should know where to go, if you needed to get it some place else. *cough* torrent *cough*
Oh, and Sony Vegas 11 to render the video under "Internet HD 720p", or if you want even higher "Internet HD 1080p".
Thanks,
PeteZone.

Thanks, Pete!
I have a bit of a grudge against Vegas (long story); but editing/mastering isn't a problem.
For some reason I thought FRAPS was full-screen only. I'll definitely have to see if I can dig out my old license; or, hell, probably just pay for it again.
Much appreciated,

Talking of buying crew members, in my recent Nesasio run I had only 5 crew members by sector 7 and I decided to buy a rockman, who saved my game later by buying time against the boarding drone and putting out tons of fire.Maya wrote:But the chance to get one is very high so normally its not necessary to buy them and if he won't give you one, there are always more Slavetraders and other special Events^^Incendax wrote:Not always true. But what is the probability that he doesn't offer you a slave? I must have attacked them like 30 times and they ALWAYS offered a slave before dying...Incendax wrote:Not always true.
