New update is now out on Steam

I've just noticed that my game has been updated to 1.023 on steam

Its mostly a bug fix update as is expected soon after launch but the new fullscreen stretch option looks looks much better now although as my monitor uses the 16:10 ratio there are still some thin borders at the top and bottom of the screen.

There is also the new way the lines connect to neighbouring systems when you choose a system to fly to, it looks and works very good.

I don't have access to my netbook just now so can someone say if the new update makes it playable on the 1024x600 resolution (Acer Aspire One).
This game is perfect for netbooks and i was surprised it didn't work on them at launch or have a 'netbook mode'.

Sadly, still does not work, though there's a workaround I've been using before now that still does. Details here:
